Paying for Therapy

INSURANCE AND PAYMENT OPTIONS:

Rebekah Walker, LPCS and Charla Killian, LPC both take various insurances. However, all other therapists at Tyler Family Counseling are private pay only ranging from $25-125 per session based on counselor education and certifications. Sliding sale is offered as needed. (Superbills can be provided by fully licensed therapists)

INSURANCE OR PRIVATE PAY?

Reasons why Private Pay might be a better option than using your insurance:

  • You choose the therapist that is best for your needs rather than someone off the insurance list.

  • Mental Health Diagnosis is not mandatory and not submitted to your private health records.

  • No limit on number of sessions or length of your session.

  • You are guaranteed privacy and confidentiality. No one knows you’re in counseling unless you tell them. It is not part of your Medical Record.

  • You or your child won’t be labeled with a mental health diagnosis unless you request this type of assessment.

  • Insurance premiums and life insurance policies will not increase based on mental health diagnosis and treatments.

  • Stigma of some diagnoses can often be avoided.

  • You won’t have to worry that your health records will be included in the Medical Information Bureau and create problems for you or your child in the future.

  • You will be able to stay with your therapist even if your insurance plan coverage changes.
